Diagnostic System DiaMon: Cooperative Diagnostics Are Ready To Use
Based on requirements of our customers and the markets we significantly improved the web service interface of our current Release 3.8 of DiaMon.
This new release provides the means for several new usage scenarios. This new release provides the means for several new usage scenarios.The most important scenario thereof is that of cooperative diagnostics. This provides the unique option that several users may access the same vehicle and the same diagnostic session simultaneously. Different user roles, access rights, and languages of the session participants are considered and supported.
Thus, cooperative diagnostics provide a variety of new opportunities for a market of increasingly complex vehicles and their numerous variants. An on-site technician can obtain support of an expert from a central help desk. In a special synchronization mode, the two technicians can jointly perform and mutually follow the same diagnostic steps. This also provides the basis for new training methods in which several participants may work together in one session.
In addition to cooperative diagnostics, further scenarios are supported by the current generation of DiaMon. The Diagnostic Control Center allows to monitor an entire vehicle fleet from a diagnostic perspective. A local technician can be brought in when the need arises. Alternatively, a technician may use smart data glasses to join into an existing session and may thus analyse a vehicle from two different points of view.
These different scenarios are made possible by the clear separation of the diagnostic system into a web service based diagnostic server and any number of thin clients. The diagnostic server may be placed on a technician’s notebook, inside the vehicle on a diagnostic control unit, on a centralized server in the OEM’s network, or even in the cloud. Special mechanisms have been provided to guarantee that cooperative clients may use the system and access the vehicle in a manner free of conflicts.
The diagnostic system DiaMon of ServiceXpert Gesellschaft für Service-Informationssysteme mbH is now bringing this new technology to its first practical use.
