Package-based software development platform

Efficient development, testing and rapid validation on the vehicle using software packages.

To ensure that the function development for autonomously driving trucks is agile, efficient and sustainable, ServiceXpert Gesellschaft für Service-Informationssysteme mbH has designed and implemented a software platform in cooperation with a commercial vehicle OEM. This platform enables the fast and efficient development, testing and validation of software packages on the vehicle. The advantage is that only the software package with its interfaces is tested and not the entire branch, which would require a build and complete retest.

This software development platform enables a cooperative usage of different tools, automation scripts and automation concepts. It focuses on the goals of module reuse, modular platform, easy-to-use pipeline and short set-up times.

All software packages have a stable software interface and have a unique identifier that can be used by the Package Management System.

ServiceXpert is significantly involved in the design and implementation of this software development platform and in this context is responsible for the system setup, the creation of configuration scripts and the CI/CD pipelines as well as the creation of software packages including the porting of modules and components to the future platform.

The engineers of ServiceXpert always work with state-of-the-art technology in projects and continuously expand their know-how, among others through internal R&D projects. With this method the team has already been able to successfully and profitably support numerous customers in the development of individual solutions and complete systems.

ServiceXpert, an ESG-Group company, employs over 85 staff in Hamburg and Munich. ServiceXpert is a Europe-wide operating system and software house with a focused service portfolio for Lifecycle management of EE information for leading manufacturers of commercial vehicle and their supplier industry.
